Manchester Literature Festival, 16 – 26 October 2008 brings you a literary feast – with events ranging from 'Crimes Past' to Romantic Fiction and Poetry in Translation to special family events, the programme caters for all literary palates. Writers will be travelling to Manchester from as far as North Africa, the Middle East, Poland, Spain and the United States.
Tying in with this year's National Year of Reading, the Festival features an eclectic mix of international and local author events and innovative participatory activities aiming to capture the public's imagination and encourage people to engage with live literature and books.
And as part of our Big Science Read campaign, organised in partnership with the Manchester Science Festival, Jodrell Bank and Time to Read, we will be hosting a series of readings, debates and workshops exploring the overlaps between literature and science.
